PetEmote 1.6.3
It was quiet here for a long time, and before the silence continues, i’d like to give you a tiny update. PetEmote 1.6.3 for World of Warcraft 3.2 is out now with a fantastic set of Death Knight’s Ghoul emotes. Special thanks to Makklor, who wrote all this great brain-eating action. It contains also a TOC-update for WoW 3.2.
I also updated the long-time out-of-date Custom Emotes Tutorial, to make it useful again. However, I recommend using the PetEmote Editor, which is located in the addon directory, but once in a while a player is interested in going the conventional way through all the LUA code. But the tutorial is also interesting if you prefer the Editor.
Finally I have to take a time-out from developing PetEmote now, because I do not nearly have enough time to go on. There are many new (and partially maybe ingenious) ideas on my list, what our critters may get into mischief next. But until the next Children’s Week I can sometimes update the TOC at best. Sorry for leaving you out in the rain…
At this point I’d like to thank you for your interest in PetEmote and your overwhelming feedback. Enjoy your furry, horned and putrescent companions furthermore!

I guess you didn’t install it correctly.
Make sure the files are in the right directory:
World of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns\PetEmote\[Files]

As I said above: please check if the PetEmote files are in the right directory. I can’t provide more help in installing the addon, because there are too many things that might go wrong while installing.

Hi, Just caught 2 spelling errors in the “Ghoul-en” emotes. Sorry all! The First is “Becauce” should be “Because” and is in the “enjoys eating – Forsaken” lines. And, the Second is a preference issue it is if you like “Deathknights” or “Death Knights”, ether is correct as per the Blizzard web pages (they use it both ways, but use “Death Knight” more), this one is in the “says ‘I hate Deathknights” lines.
Love the addon!!
Hey all who are having trouble installing the addon. Jorna is correct, check the directories! Make sure you create a directory named “PetEmote” in the Addons directory and unzip the download into there. Now it should work.

Thank you for reporting, Makklor. I changed that and uploaded version 1.6.3 again. For those having problems: I have packed the file in the common way, meaning that while unzipping a directory “PetEmote” should be created as it was in older versions (and most other addons i guess).

I love this addon and have been using it for awhile now but….
I find the felgaurds emote in which he threatens suicide to be down right f@&cking stupid, wtf were you thinking? Children, that fit the highest demographic for suicide, play this game.
OK, end rant. I’ve edited this emote out of my copy and think such emotes should not be included in any future versions.

You are absolutely right, even though there are many things much worse in the original game. Thank you for reporting this emote. I did not read it squeamishly enough before approving (as you might know, I don’t write english emotes by myself anymore). Thus, a new release is available for download. However, I won’t promote this one.

Jorna,
I LOVE this addon. Absolutely. It’s so interesting to have my pet do some funny things, while relieving the boredom of powerleveling fishing from 1 to 450, or in a BG or raid. XD While this isn’t a useful addon, it is hands down my most favorite!
And sorry you can’t keep working on it for the time being. Good Luck in everything you’re doing!
Thanks!!

And actually, I take that back about not useful. When my pet nudges my bags, or longs for a piece of flesh, I know it’s time to toss him a Salted Venison or two.

Kinda wish that it could be updated soon. Love pet e mote and have some real cool custom ones made for my cat. Although some of the alliance dont think they are funny.

Great addon!
Im a happy hunter with a spiritbeast and a turtle. My spiritbeast is the wolf-type one so some of the random emotes seem a bit too ‘catty’. And the turtle really doesnt have any nice ones…. I was thinking maybe the Torta one ‘sand between the toes’ could be funny. I dont really get the code thing for putting emotes in on my own, but if anyone has some nice ones id like to have them if you would share please. And they could be added to the general petemote too maybe..

Right, after Blizzard added more different spiritbeasts, the ‘catty’ emotes are a bit missplaced by now. I think I will remove them with the next update (whenever it will be…).
So, anybody got some sandy turtle emotes out there?
