PetEmote 1.6 — Feed me!
I was a bit quiet in the past weeks and enjoyed this wonderful Expansion. But along the way I finished PetEmote 1.6. I hope I will remember all the changes, which partly are some months old.
- It is now possible to write Combat- and Feeding-Emotes. Luckily for you, I have not added any localized emotes — some of you will remember my bad English grammar. You can use the Editor (which is still located in the PetEmote directory), provided that you are using Windows and have the Microsoft.NET Framework 3.5 installed, to write your own Combat- and Feeding-Emotes for your favorite pets. I will be pleased to find your custom-emotes.xml file in my mailbox, to add your emotes to the next version.
- There are two new conditions for writing emotes, which make it possible to decide if the pet liked or disliked a food.
- Emotes on feeding will only be displayed, if the pet accepts the food. To get an emote, when the pet dislikes a food (for example if you feed him a mana potion), you have to pull the item out of your bag and drop it on the pet or its icon. There is no better way at the moment, sorry.
- The occurence of combat and common random emotes will be better adjusted in later versions. At the moment, it is not optimal.
- There are three new conditions to decide, if a text may be used as the first, second or third part of the whole emote. Using the first condition, it is possible to create emotes, which will not be concated with other texts for sure.
- Creating keywords for emotes has been optimized in the Editor. Most of the time you can leave the Editor creating keywords automatically.
- The new pet families from WotLK have been added and can be selected from the menu to create new configurations.
- At least I have added Devilsaur emotes! (Most of them are modified Raptor emotes.)
- The ominous “bored” emotes have been removed, as they caused problems sometimes. Now you can spam as much as you want!:P
By the way, it is possible to write emotes for the Death Knight’s Ghoul, as long as the character has chosen the (whatever it is called) better-ghoul-talent from the third talent tree. Just give your configuration the name Ghoul. And don’t forget to post your Ghoul emotes here.
As always, I’m glad to read your comments (and emotes of course), though I will not be able to answer everything in the next few weeks. The next minor update is planned for end of December.

For the next version of Pet Emote add alot more Devilsaur emotes please! Lions have way, way more emotes on their list than Devilsaurs! That’s not right!

Mir würden mehr Emotes für die Vögel gefallen da man bei diesen doch auch einiges machen könnte….

I finally picked up the new wrath happy version of PetEmote today, and was thrilled, but…
I cant seem to get my corehound to say anything (/cry) Is corehound support planned for the next version? or is there a way I can add the family type into PetEmote myself like i would add customer emotes?
Or am i just being stupid and its already there!

It is already there, but I can’t try myself if it works.
There are no random Core Hound emotes by default – maybe this is what you are missing. You can add some as custom emotes and send them to me (or post them here), so I can add default emotes in the next version.

I have a slight question, that might have already been answered, but seeing as i have decided to get PetEmote just a week ago, and just now getting around to the site, I will ask. I’m a male Hunter in game and I was wondering if there is a way to stop my pet emotes from saying “mistress” without editing every emote that the term is used in? I ask due to the fact my Guildies will not let me on a part for the reason my pet keeps making them laugh and they get killed.

What kind of pet do you have? This must be some hidden config error…

I have had this problem also. It pops only when my cat is out that i have noticed. The next time i see it i will copy it. I have another little more serious problem however. My pet emotes in the middle of battle. Being that I play on a RP server, this is not good at all. Most of the time I turn the random emotes off now, Unless I am at an RP event.

Found the error for the mistress bug.
Just a small syntax error.

["continues"] = {

Thanks for locating the bug. I will fix this for the next version.
What’s the problem with combat emotes on RP realms? In case that the pet attacks something, this is not power emoting. I mean, it doesn’t rip any heads off, does it?

No . Pet yawns and stretches during combat is a bit of a problem however. The non combat emotes seem to still go off during long boss fights etc.

Non combat emotes while in combat should be impossible. You may have been out of combat for a second (feign death?) or so. However, the way how combat emotes are triggered will change in 1.6.1, as they are triggered too rare at the moment.

That may have been the case. feign death is a huge aggro dump, shadowmeld as well in my case.

Technically spirit beasts are cats. Because they are no longer tamable, I will not support them in a special way. However, you can create special spirit beast configurations based on the name of your pet, which is most likely unique.

I recently tamed a warp stalker and I cannot get the /random to work- i have to manually type out her emotes.
I must note that she is Gezzerak, the black warp stalker that is no longer tamable- but she is still (by using beast lore) considered a warp stalker.
Are there no warp stalker emotes, or is she just broken due to her special nature?

Right, there are no warp stalker random emotes at the moment.
